Joe Hall

Ghost Farm II

Walking away with the copper taste of blood drank from the bowl

Dug into the earth this is guarding, everything

That regains its voice by kissing gore in a punk garden

Of burnt amaranth wands and morning glories—

At the ankles of the house that is burning

Where I ate her placenta and yes it gave me power
